Medical

Drawing on our expertise in electromagnetism, we develop equipment for particle accelerators, meeting the specific needs of the most advanced medical treatments. Whether for proton therapy, hadrontherapy or radioisotope production, our solutions offer precision and reliability. These centres provide care and improve the management of cancer patients while preserving healthy tissue.

Discover some of Sigmaphi's key projects in the medical field

MedAustron | 90° dipole for carbon therapy

Sigmaphi supplied the synchrotron, beamline and gantry magnets for the hadrontherapy facilities. The image shows the 90° dipole of the MedAustron gantry, which is 5.8 m long and weighs over 100 tonnes with its support structure.

Christie NHS | Protontherapy facility R&D beamline

At the Christie NHS Proton Therapy Centre in the UK, we are involved in the RBA research beamline project, including on-site installation and dosimetry. Our collaboration promises to improve cancer treatment capabilities, ensuring precision and efficiency in proton therapy.

CEA R&D partnership | LOTUS Cyclotron Helium Free

Since the early 2000s, Sigmaphi has been supplying superconducting magnets to the world’s leading physics laboratories, pioneering advances in NbTi, MgB2 and HTS technologies.
