An exceptional day at SIGMAPHI: Paralympic athletes and inspiring personalities meet employees.
As part of European Disability Awareness Week, SIGMAPHI organized a day entirely dedicated to raising awareness about disability at its Vannes site.It was a powerful, human, and inspiring event, organized with the support of many committed partners, and part of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach.
Objective: to change perceptions of disability
The aim of the day was to: Raise employee awareness of different forms of disability (physical, sensory, mental, psychological, invisible, etc.)Promote inclusion in the workplace by highlighting the realities of those affected, encouraging dialogue and mutual understanding, and above all, showing that disability does not limit talent, ambition, or performance.
Inspiring athletes came to share their stories
One of the highlights of the day was meeting athletes with disabilities, who came especially to talk with our teams. Their journeys, often marked by resilience and pushing themselves beyond their limits, deeply touched all the employees present.
Here is the list of athletes who attended:
– Cléo RENOU, multiple world swimming champion, swimmer in the French para swimming team.
– Yann JONDOT, government ambassador for accessibility, player international table tennis player and Brittany champion, federal coach.
Professional inclusion also in the spotlight
In addition to the athletes, Thibault CRUARD, a pastry chef at CARTRON since 2010, was also present to share his professional daily life. Accompanied by his boss Alexandre CARTRON, their discussions with our employees helped to challenge preconceived ideas and better understand the possible adaptations that can be made in the workplace. I
mmersive and fun workshops
To raise awareness in a concrete and participatory way, several workshops were offered throughout the day to employees and guests: Ping-pong workshop against Yann JONDOT, a sporting experience accessible to all, Wheelchair course in a “basketball” workshop: facing everyday obstacles, Disability & Sport Quiz, to test your knowledge in a fun way, Partner stands with documentation, demonstrations, and open discussions.
These moments were an opportunity to experience disability from the inside, in an educational, inclusive, and caring way. An event in line with our CSR policy This day is fully in line with SIGMAPHI’s CSR policy, which places diversity and inclusion at the heart of its priorities. We work every day to build a fair, open, and caring work environment, where differences are recognized as a true collective asset. The inclusion of people with disabilities both in employment and in social life, reflects our vision of a responsible and deeply human company, committed to giving everyone the means to flourish and contribute to our shared success.
Partners committed to our cause
We were fortunate to be able to count on high-quality partners, without whom this day would not have been the same:
AFI – Association Formation Insertion, co-organizer of the event,
Decathlon, committed to making sports accessible to all,
Orkyn, specialist in home healthcare solutions,
Fédération Française du Sport Adapté, promoter of sports for people with mental or psychological disabilities,
Cartron, inclusive employment partner company.
This day will remain a highlight of the year for SIGMAPHI. Thank you to all the speakers, partners, employees, and guests who contributed to making this day a human, collective, and committed success.
